Weather hits fixtures but Villa keep winning

FOR THE second consecutive week over half of last weekend’s Saturday Morning League programme was wiped out as a result of the torrential rain which soaked the north-west area in midweek resulting in waterlogged pitches.
Just one game survived in the Premier Division as Clifton Villa struggled to overcome Rosemount to keep their title challenge on track.
Westbank United, however, still remain top of the table as Clooney failed to field against them and that will mean Westbank take all three points while Clooney face a fine.
It was the same in the Championship with only one game played as Benbradagh Colts narrowly defeated Foyle Athletic to consolidate their place on the summit of the table.
Most of the action was associated with the First Division with three games played. Oxford United saw their poor run continue as they were beaten at home by Hatmore Harps and Culmore had a good win over Collegians while Oakleaf Celtic’s bad run of form continued as they were hammered by HML.
