Westbank edge closer to Premier leadership

WESTBANK United edged ever closer Premier Division leaders, Clifton Villa, following their defeat of Phoenix Swifts last weekend, a result which ends the latter’s Championship challenge.

In fact, Westbank now sit just one point behind the leaders with two games in hand.

Brandywell Celtic went on the rampage as they hammered Du Pont or six without reply and Creggan Swifts, who also sit just one point behind the leaders but they have played a game more, defeated Rosemount 3-1.

In the Championship Collon Celtic moved into second place thanks to their win over Tristar and Drumahoe earned their first point of the season when sharing the spoils with Newton Heath. Bentley also climbed a couple of places up the league table as they defeated Art Deco 2-1.

In the First Division HML are the new leaders thanks to their win over Oakleaf Celtic and Metro were knocked off the top spot as they lost to City Colts.
