The Derry Journal, Derry City Football Club and Hughes Insurance have teamed up with the 2012 Foyle Cup to offer four teams the chance to take part in the Hughes Insurance Foyle Cup Masterclass competition.

The competition is for teams in the under-14 age group signed up to take part in the 2012 tournament which kicks-off on July 16th next.

The winning teams will get a coaching masterclass at the Brandywell from Derry City’s coaching team – led by current ‘Candy Stripes’ boss, Declan Devine.

The four lucky teams will be put through their paces by the coaching staff on July 4th, shown training techniques employed by the Derry’s first team squad and given a big match briefing on how to play tournament football in the 2012 Foyle Cup.

“It is a fantastic opportunity for the four winning teams to get a professional football experience in the Brandywell and be given a coaching masterclass by my coaching team,” said the Derry boss.

“Derry City Football Club has longstanding ties with the D&D Youth F.A. and the Foyle Cup and we are delighted to be able to support this competition and youth football.”

The Hughes Insurance Foyle Cup Masterclass will culminate in a training tournament – with the winning team taking home the Foyle Cup Masterclass Trophy.

Each of the four teams that take part will get a bespoke Foyle Cup Masterclass football kit, medals for taking part and of course one team will get some silverware to take home.
