McGuinness lays down the law!
DERRY solicitor, Ciaran McGuinness, reigned supreme in last Saturday’s Foyle Hospice Charity Open Stableford at the Ballyarnett club.
However, the 13 handicapper had to survive a break of tie with Damien McColgan, McGuinness getting the verdict thanks to a superior back nine after both players had returned the top score of 39 points.
The event, staged on a superb day for golf, enjoyed a fine entry and with the Foyle course in pristine condition top scoring was the order of the day off the back tees.
Full results were - Foyle Hospice Open Stableford - 1, break of tie, Ciaran McGuinness (13) 39 points; 2, Damien McColgan (13), 39; 3, Patrick McDaid (18) 38; gross, Damien McKenna, 34; back nine, break of tie, Chris McCauley (20) 21.
The C.S.S. was 35 pts.
