BUNCRANA Golf Club’s annual Open Week Calendar will conclude today with the Teams of Four Open Rumble.

The Inishowen club’s Open Week commenced last week and with the course in excellent conditions there has been some excellent scores returned.

The competition this weekend is the Brennan’s Pharmacy Open Stableford to be played on Saturday, July 27th and Sunday, July 28th.

Points are also available in this competition for the Callaghan’s Jewellers Golfer of The Year competition.

City of Derry

Sixteen points after nine holes didn’t do Brian Mulgrew’s (22) confidence much good at Prehen in the weekly Thursday Open.

However, a remarkable, record-breaking 27 points on the back nine set up his great 43 point winning total!

Results - 1, Brian Mulgrew (22) 43pts; 2, b.o.t, Stephen Orr (13) 41; 3, Ronan Coyle (12) 41; Gross - Tommy McBride (3) 37; Visitor - Mark O’Doherty (6) (Greencastle) 40. Meanwhile, next Saturday the postponed City Hotel Open takes place and once again the ladies, including visitors, are invited to play. Sunday’s competition will be a charity Open in aid of the Northlands Centre.

And tomorrow (Wednesday) the popular Lady Captain, Rosaleen McAnulla’s Scramble takes place with a shotgun start at 5.15 p.m.

On Friday, July 26th Rosaleen invites the men of the club to play a 13 hole competition from 5 p.m. Lunns the Jewellers will be sponsoring an Open Teams of Four competition for Ladies and Gents (any combination ) at City of Derry on August 24th and 25th.
