Faye opts to keep it in the family at Foyle

AN impressive field of 65 ladies and gents supported Foyle Ladies Branch “Pink Day Open” on Thursday, October 3rd, the event organised in aid of Breast Cancer (Cancer Focus N.I).

And the Ballyarnett club’s popular Lady Captain, Faye McGrotty, burst to prominence proving that her duties of office are not interfering with her ability on the golf course.

However, Faye had to survive a break of with with Gracehill Golf Club member, Susan Davidson as both returned the top score of 38 points.

The prizes were generously sponsored by Foyle’s Lady President, Avril Gallagher and Mrs. Angela Crumley.

Meanwhile, congratulations to Lorna Thompson and Monica Smith who will represent the Ladies Branch in the ‘Irish Mail’ Foursomes competition after recently winning the club’s qualifying competition.

The Ringer competition will draw to a conclusion this Sunday, October 13th and 11 hole competitions will commence on Thursday, October 17.

The club’s annual Hallowe’en competition will be staged on Thursday, October 31st with a shotgun start at 11.00 a.m.

Redcastle Ladies

There was a large turnout of ladies for last Friday’s Hallowe’en Stableford over 18 holes, the event enjoying glorious sunshine.

Twenties competition: No.169, winner - Margaret McColgan, 22 pts.

Meanwhile, the Ladies & Gents Past Captains and Presidents’ competition will take place this Sunday, October 13th, over nine holes.

The tee-off times are from 2.30 p.m. and refreshments and the presentation of prizes will take place in the clubhouse after the competition.

All past Captains and Presidents’ are invited to attend.

City of Derry Ladies

Results from last Tuesday’s Winter Stableford which was played over 13 hole3 - 1, Kathleen Desmond (25) 24 points; 2, Lou Peoples (17) 21; 3, Rose Campbell (11) 21.

North-West Ladies
