Kenyan, Freddy Keron Sittuk continued his Irish stay with a win at Lisnagelvin on Wednesday night, clocking 15m 20s to see off the local opposition led by Emmett McGinty, 15m 34s and Gary Slevin 15m 50s.
The amiable African is staying locally with Greg Roberts and takes in as many races as he can find.
The two Spartans stayed with him for about half distance on a pleasant Wednesday night.
However, as expected had to back off and settle for the minor placings.
Springwell’s Gemma Turley claimed her first win in this year’s Furey Insurances race series, posting a good 18m 44s and finishing ahead of Bay Road winner Catherine Whoriskey’s 18, 58s, with Sunday’s big Triathlon runner-up Maeve Maher McWilliams, an excellent third on 19m 34s.
Turley’s win sets the stage perfectly for a final race showdown with Whoriskey for the overall women’s title, on the Baliniska circuit on Wednesday, July 17th.
