George will be centre of attention at Foyle

MEMBERS of Foyle Golf Club will be out in force tomorrow to play in Mr George Fitzpatrick’s Captain’s Day, with proceedings will get underway this evening with a nine holes Ladies, Gents & Juvenile Scramble and Putting Competition at 5.30 p.m.

And with a full timesheet - over 72 players have entered - it is important that all those taking part book in early to ensure the smooth running of the event.

Tomorrow’s timesheet is also close to capacity with Lee Barlow, John Logue, Oran Canning and James McCallion striking the first balls off the first tee at 7.40 p.m. to get the competition underway. All those taking part are asked to book in at least 15 minutes before their allotted tee-off time as late comers may not be facilitated.

Club Stableford result - Sunday, June 23rd - 1, Eamon O’Kane (19) 39 points.

There will be a Prize Presentation tonight at 9pm for the following competitions and all prize winners are asked to attend or send a deputy to collect their prize - Fyfes Mid-Summer Open; Golf Store Europe Two Day Open and all voucher winners to date (see Notice Board for list of winners).

This Sunday’s competition will be a Club Sweep.

City of Culture Pro-Am

Details have been announced of the City of Culture Two-Day Pro-Am event, hosted and organised by the City of Derry Golf Club in conjunction with the Irish Professional Golfers Association. It will take place at Prehen on Saturday, July 20th and Sunday, July 21st next.

The 2013 event will be sponsored by Karl Doherty Motors and McDaid, McCullough, Moore (Chartered Accountants), in conjunction with the City of Culture Company.

It is expected that between 44 and 52 professionals will take part in the teams of four format

For those wishing to enter the two-day event, the cost for City of Derry members is £90 each and for non-COD members £105 each. Entry forms are available from the Prehen club’s Professional’s Shop (tel. 028 71 311496) and all entries should be accompanied by the relevant payment for each team with cheques made payable to the City of Derry Golf Club.
