The prestigious annual Dessie’s Run, the classic 10k road race staged by the City of Derry Spartans club out of Derry’s Gransha Park Grounds, expects to attract some 200 plus runners on Tuesday evening August 26th next and the entry details have just been announced.
Online entry can be made up to midnight on Monday, August 25th by sending, name, date of birth, age on race day, t-shirt size, club and phone number to firstname.lastname@example.org
Alternatively entry can be made at race HQ in the U3A Foyle building in Gransha, on race night from 5.45 p.m. and 7 p.m, the race has a 7.15 p.m. start time.
Online entrants can pay the race entry fee on the night between the above times, as they pick up their race pack at the U3A building.
The entry fee is £8/E10 for online entry or £9/E11 for race day entry. The first 200 entries will be guaranteed a race t-shirt so it’s in everyone’s interest to register early.
Dessie’s Run commerates the memory of the late Dessie McNulty, a former Sparta AC club captain and with the relatively traffic free, proven fast, flat three lap Gransha course it attracts runners of all abilities.
Sighter for Waterside Half Marathon
Indeed many use it as a sighter for the September Waterside Half Marathon, also from the Gransha Park grounds.
