Lifford Stadium will host a top class card of greyhound racing tomorrow night (Sat.) with racing over all distances on a well graded card.
“THE TRACKER” reports
And while selecting winners looks tricky, the safest bet of the night appears to be on the Shelbourne card where live racing will be shown on the track’s televisions.
“Milldean Panther,” in heat two, is my banker for the evening. This undefeated December 09 pup made it 11 wins from 11 races in last week’s heats of the S.I.S. Live Tote Gold Cup. He was having his first run back after his winter break and was led to halfway in that race but he powered clear from the third bend to win in a time of 29.80 for the 550 yards. Although that was not the fastest time on the night, I would expect significant improvement from that dog when he runs from his favoured trap one in tomorrow night’s race.
In fact, I believe it will be a real shock if he does not keep his unbeaten record tomorrow night.
Lifford also has two good upcoming competitions starting next weekend. The Errigal A2 525 yards and the Swilly A4 525 yards are expected to attract good entries and those wishing to enter dogs in these competition should contact Paul Murphy, the racing manager at Lifford, on 00353-7491-42595 (from N. Ireland).
Tomorrow night’s first race gets underway at 7.50 p.m. sharp.
Racing at Brandywell
Meanwhile, there will be racing as normal in the Brandywell on Monday and Thursday of next week.
Entries are required for the Benny Barrett Sprint and those wishing to enter dogs should contact the Brandywell racing manager, Michael McLaughlin, for full details.
