Local knowledge aids Margaret

MARGARET McColgan took full advantage of local knowledge when claiming the top honours in last Friday’s Donegal & Friends Ladies Alliance outing at Buncrana.

However, the 18 handicapper, a member of the host club, had to survived a break of tie with Foyle member, Margaret McCarron, both players having returned 31 points.

Ladies representing seven local clubs turned up despite the dreadful weather conditions and although the scoring was understandably lower than usual, most competitors completed the 18 holes and the hospitality at the Buncrana club more than compensated for the inclement conditions.

The next outing of the Alliance will take place at North-West Golf Club, Lisfannon, on Saturday, February 12th and more details will be published nearer the time.
