Foyle Cycling Club member, Matthew Doyle has been presented with an opportunity to ride with top Belgium cycling team, KSV Deerlijk-Gaverzicht-Matexi.

The 17 year-old, who is still only a first year junior, has been in fine form this season which has been reflected by his selection to train with the top amateur team which boasts over 200 riders within its ranks, for the next month.

Indeed, all the early morning training sessions and travelling have paid off for the local lad as he follows in the footsteps of Ronan McLaughlin (An Post Sean Kelly team) and Phillip Deignan (United Healthcare USA) who both made their step-up to professional cycling through the help of teams in Belgium and France.

Matthew has benefitted from training with the likes of McLaughlin and Deignan and through the support from his family and his coach and uncle Jim Doyle.

The local cyclist has also had the support from his fellow team mates at Foyle CC and his friends in the racing community.

Matthew is sponsored by The Coffee House and T. McLaughlin and Sons LTD and is grateful for their financial support for his trip and to everyone for their kind support.
