The final of the McLean Bookmakers 525 will be the feature race at Lifford Greyhound Stadium tomorrow night (Saturday).

The two semi-finals of the competition, kindly sponsored by McLean bookmakers, took place at the track last week and fastest on the clock was ‘Westwood Lee’ owned by Derek Neely.
The black July ‘11 dog was very impressive, showing great early pace when winning in a time of 28.81secs. The other semi-final was won by ‘Tahina Kellie’, owned by Vera Croarkin, in a slower time of 29.39secs.
Looking at tomorrow night’s final and ‘Westwood Lee’ from trap two will start favourite and he should again lead by a few lengths around the opening bends.
However, I thought ‘Tahina Kellie’ ran a great race to win her semi-final last week after being very slow away and having to come from well off the pace to win.
‘Tahina Kellie’ is well drawn in trap three in tomorrow night’s final and if ‘Westwood Lee’ leads from trap two as expected, ‘Tahina Kellie’ can hopefully get around in second place behind him. And, if doing so, I would be very confident of ‘Tahina Kellie’ picking up the early paced ‘Westwood Lee’ around the final bends and go on to win this final for her Co. Fermanagh based owner/trainer.
Also on tomorrow night’s card will be two semi-finals of the Track Buster 525. In the first semi-final I fancy ‘Swanson Rosette’ from trap six.
The October ‘12 bitch won from trap-to-line in a time of 29.14secs last week in her heat and she should lead this semi-final race and if she does, she should win it.
‘Spotty Totty’ from trap one and ‘Quare Flame’ from trap four should also qualify from this semi-final. The second semi-final should go to some effort from trap five. The June ‘12 showed great pace when winning its heat last week in a time of 28.94secs.
She has a good bit on hand on the clock and should win.
‘Fernhill Dice’ from trap three and ‘Tommylee’s Buddy’ from trap six, look as if they may get the last two qualifying spots from this semi-final.
There will also be racing, as normal, on Monday night at Brandywell Stadium. The final of the Forge Sprint will be the main race on the card.
‘Drumcrow Duke’, owned by Roy Ruddy ran well to win his semi-final last week in a time of 17.02secs. That was the March ‘13 pup’s first race so he is open to a lot of improvement and should win Monday night’s final.
The track Lotto was not won last week. The numbers drawn were 14, 21, 30. The jackpot now stands at £1,375 and tickets can be bought at the track before the first race.
A McLean’s Bookmakers 525 final (in trap order); 1, Aughduff Murt, 2, Westwood Lee, 3, Tahina Kellie, 4, Turbine Tulip, 5, Thrill Me, 6, Dartrey Snow.
