Open Week at North-West Golf Club tees-off today (Tuesday) with the Glengollan Open “Meal Deal” Stableford with the traditional Ladies Day Open taking place tomorrow (Wed.)

Thursday’s competition is a Fourball Better Ball while Friday is an Open Teams of Three competition (any combination). The Flight of the Earls Open Stroke will be staged on Saturday with an Open Stableford closing the week on Sunday.

Timesheets are available for all competitions, ring Gary in the Golf Shop on 00-353-7493-61715 (from N. Ireland).

Meanwhile, last Tuesday’s Open “Meal Deal” was won by Terry Meenan (9) with a fine score of 42 points. Terrys round consisted of 15 pars and three bogeys which was enough to see him win by one point from Michael Fitzpatrick (12).

Last Saturday’s Confined Stableford saw John F McLaughlin take top honours thanks a superb score of 40 points in tough conditions.

Full results were - 1,John F McLaughlin (21) 40 points; 2, Jason Spence (6) 36; gross, Johnny Harding, 77; 3, Michael Fitzpatrick (11) 36; back nine, Ciaran Doherty (10) 18.

The C.S.S. was 34 pts.

The winner of Sunday’s Confined Stableford was Jimmy McGee who posted a solid score of 40 points to win on a break of tie from Sean McLaughlin (7).

Full results were - Confined Stableford - 1, break of tie, Jimmy McGee (14) 40 points; 2, Sean McLaughlin (7) 40; 3, Johnny Harding (4) on 38; gross, Padraig MacLochlainn, 77; back nine, Ciaran Doherty (10) 20.

The C.S.S. was 35 points.

North-West will stage a special 2-Day Open competition on the weekend of the Open Championships on July 21st and 22nd sponsored by Total Golf with accumalative scores from both cards to count.

There will be daily prizes and the entry fee for members is E10 and E30 for visitors (covering both days).
