FOYLE’S Paul McEleney took full advantage of last Saturday’s favourable conditions at Ballyarnett when claiming the annual Different Class Menswear Open Stableford.

The event enjoyed a superb entry of 100 competitors and with the course in pristine condition, 12 handicapper McEleney returned the top score of 43 points giving him a two points cushion over his nearest rival.

Full results were - 1, Paul McEleney (12) 43 points; 2, James G. McDaid (26) 41; 3, break of tie, Sean Doyle (17) 39; gross, break of tie, Cormac McGeady, 32; visitor, Stephen Henderson (13), Newtownstewart, 37; back nine, Calvin Mooney (13) 23.

The C.S.S. was 36 pts.

Meanwhile, the End of Summer nine holes Scramble for Ladies, Gents and Juveniles will take place this Friday, August 24th, with a shotgun start at 5.30 p.m. All members taking part in the Scramble are asked to enter their names on the sheet provided in the shop by Friday morning to facilitate the draw for teams.

Following the golf there will be a barbeque and prize presentation followed by the End of Summer Grand Draw and all members are reminded that tickets for the draw must be returned by Wednesday, August 22nd next.
