One of the best events on the golfing calendar is less than a month away when the “Carrycullion Classic” tees-off in Killarney on Monday, September 3rd.
The 72 holes tournament will be played on three top courses – Mahony’s Point, Lackabane and twice on Killeen, the venue for the Irish Open in 2010 and 2011.
A few places are available on the trip which has been organised by Colm McCarroll (telephone: 07990507166 or e-mail email@example.com) and Jimmy McGee (telephone: 07971192354).
The draw for teams and the first three rounds takes place at North-West Golf Club on Thursday week, August 16th at 4.30 p.m.
The party will be based in the superb Castlerosse Hotel, just minutes from the three courses. It is a seven night stay, arriving on Saturday, September 1st next.
The cost is E490 which includes accommodation (bed & breakfast), green fees, tournament entry fee (E50) and Presentation Dinner.
For those who require single accommodation, the price is E650.
The defending champion is former Irish international, Frank McCarroll, who can expect some tough opposition, not least from Francis Duffy, who claimed the title back in 1980 when the tour last visited Killarney.
