Three Samurai Uladh players tasted cross-border success at the recent Donegal and Derry Sports Awards ceremonies. At the Donegal Sports Star Awards, Sarah-Jane Porter won the Primary Schools Female Award while Kathleen McNaught won the overall Martial Arts Award.
And at the Derry District Sports Council awards, held at the City Hotel, Callum Nash won the Junior Male Sports Award.
All three members are current All-Ireland judo champions and are ranked number one in their respective weight categories.
All three talented athletes have also excelled in other sports as Sarah Jane represents Tooban National School at athletics, soccer and camogie.
Kathleen plays midfield for the Moville Community College senior girls team that recently won the Ulster schools title, and is looking forward to the upcoming All-Ireland semi-final against the Leinster schools champions.
Callum is also a talented boxer and is a current County Derry champion. The young Lumen Christi student has strong sporting genes and is coached in judo by his mother, ex-international judo player, Donna while his boxing career is guided by his equally famous father, ex-international boxing star, Roy.
