Shaun shines in Captain’s Prize

Portsalon Captain, Mr. Joe Harkin, was honoured with a full timesheet for his Captain’s Day on Saturday last and the excellent weather coupled with a course in superb condition led to some excellent scoring.

The overall winner was Shaun Strain who played some excellent golf to return the top score of 43 points.

The “shot of the day” was struck by Clive Davidson who recorded an eagle ‘2’ on the second hole.

The CSS was 36 pts.

The Captain’s festival teed-off on Saturday evening with the traditional pre-Captain’s Day Scramble. The event attracted a good turnout and the winners were - Hugh McGinley, Tony Kingston and Tracey McBride while the runners-up were Noel Nicholl, Sarah Nicholl and Joe Harkin.
