NEW leaders have emerged following the return of three cards in the annual Pitchers’ Spring League at Foyle.
Team 15, consisting David Wilson, Rob Ewing, Declan Ryan and Brendan Gallagher, returned another fine score of 95 points for an accumulated total of 277 points.
As a result they have now moved into a 10 points lead at this early stage in the very competitive qualifying rounds.
The highlight of last week’s play was a “hole in one” at the par three 13th hole by Pitchers’ Restaurant head chef, John Logue who produced the perfect shot. The feat was witnessed by playing parter, Joe Braley.

Foyle Sunday Society
Foyle Sunday Society members turned out in force on Sunday last to take advantage of much better playing conditions and Paddy McCafferty (20) made good use of the elements when returning the top score of 42 points.
Full results were - 1, Paddy McCafferty (20) 42 points; 2, Jim McFadden (11) 40; 3, John Jennings (10) 39.
Meanwhile, the 20th annual general meeting of Foyle’s Men’s Club will take place on Monday next, February 17th, at 7.30 p.m. in the Foyle Golf Centre.
All members are asked to attend and engage fully in the meeting.

Craig in form at
Competitions resumed on Sunday last at Greencastle with Hugh Craig dominating the 15 holes Stableford event.
The 15 handicapper was clearly the man on form as he coasted to an easy victory with a return of 31 points.
His card included six pars as he finished three points ahead of the rest of the field.
A break of tie was called upon to decide the runners-up spot which went to Martin McGeoghan (17). With no fewer than five players boasting the same score of 28 points, but Martin’s better finish secured second spot.
Tomorrow (Saturday) a Ladies and Gents Singles Stableford is on offer with a Gents Singles Stableford on Sunday.
“Master Chef” at
Ballyliffin next weekend
Ballyliffin’s popular “Master Chef” competition gets underway on Saturday, February 22nd with Annette Doherty flying the flag for the Ladies Branch.
But she will be up against the formidable duo of President Pascal Harper and Frank Harkin. Tickets (E15) include appetiser, main course, glass of wine and quiz.
