Terrific turnout for Foyle Ladies Open

FOYLE LADIES member, Bernie Rutherford (32) romped to victory at Foyle Ladies Open competition on Thursday last with a tremendous score of 44 points.

There was a terrific turnout as 118 ladies and gentlemen took to the fairways which were in pristine condition.

Next week’s competition is July Par Competition and the winner will receive a City of Derry Centenary Medal.

Redcastle Ladies

The competition on Monday, July 16th (Nellie Garrett Pairs) was cancelled due to weather conditions and will be played at a later date.

The next competition, Playing Fields Salver, will be played on Monday, July 23rd. Draw Times are 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 5.30 p.m.

Ballyliffin Ladies

The early players fared best weather-wise for the Ladies Open in Ballyliffin on Tuesday.

Nevertheless the competiton was well supported by both the members and visitors.

The lady captain, Agnes wishes to remind ladies that the club matchplay must be completed by the end of July. Next week’s competition is the Clonmany Cup and a large interest is anticipated.

Letterkenny Ladies

Letterkenny Ladies had their first taste of the Maire O’Donnell competition against Ballybofey and Stranorlar Golf Club on Sunday last.

On Friday, July 13th the Mixed Open Foursomes produced a marriage made in heaven with the Spences, Tracy and Keith returning 65.6 to win.

The 18 hole qualifier for the ladies club, Club Classic Team to be played on July 28th was won by Marian O’Sullivan with 36 points.

A club 18 hole competition, in aid of breast cancer, is on Thursday, July 26th. There is also another breast cancer fundraiser with the very popular NW Breast Care Unit Classic, sponsored by the Silver Tassie Hotel and Spa on Friday, July 27th.

On Saturday, July 28th the Sigma Wireless Club Classic will be staged.

On Monday, August 6th there will be a ‘Save St. Lukes’ Ladies and Gents Singles Stableford Open with 1st, 2nd, 3rd and visitors in both ladies and gents sections. E10 members and E20 visitors. Timesheet in operation.
