With time running out before two of the North West’s biggest and best road races, Dessies 10K Run (Tuesday, August 25th) and the Waterside Half Marathon (Sunday, September 6th) all intending participants are urged to sign up as soon as possible.

Both races are introducing brand new courses this year and pre-entries for both these long established events are very healthy. However, while Dessie’s Run will accept on the night entries, the Waterside Half pre-entry system is set to close this Friday, August 21st.

For information on the Waterside email halfmarathon@derrycityandstrabanedistrict.com or enter online at www.WHM15.com

A special Half Marathon entry desk will be available at Dessie’s Run on August 25th between 6pm and 9pm with entries at the standard £22 and no late entry addition will be accepted.

Dessie’s Run will, as usual, be staged out of the Gransha Park grounds on Derry’s Limavady Road with the U3A Foyle Building once again the race HQ. The entry desk will be open between 5.30pm and 7.00pm and the race will start at 7.15pm sharp.

There are t-shirts for the first 150 entrants and with close to 100 already signed up there is still time to get your name on the list. To pre-enter, simply send Name, Gender, Age on race day, Club (if any) and T Shirt size to dessierun@gmail.com

You then just turn up on the night, hand over your £10 entry fee and pick up your race pack.

The usual generous ‘Open Race’ and Age Group prizes are on offer, there is chip timing and the much appreciated post race refreshments to round off the evening’s action.
