Top Class Show in Clanree Hotel
CREGGAN kickboxer, Damien McGuinness (above) will headline an exciting kickboxing and K1 fight night at the Clanree Hotel, Letterkenny on February 23rd as he bids to become ISKA world amateur welterweight kickboxing champion.
The Paddy Toland trained kickboxer is the current ISKA Irish Amateur light-welterweight champion and he is anxious to take the step into world level at the Donegal venue.
Also featuring on the bill is Derry’s three time world professional kickboxing champion, Daniel ‘Pinta’ Quigley who makes a welcome return to the ring.
However, the local personal trainer, will be making his K1 debut on the night as he has introduced low kicks and knees into his heavy sparring and training regime.
Donegal’s three time female world professional Kickboxing champion, Natalie “The Blade” McCarron will also feature in a professional International fight while, world Super-Welterweight champion, Aidan “Lights Out” Lafferty will compete in an ISKA International Professional light-middleweight title fight.
Current ISKA Junior champion, St Johnston lad, Damien “Kid Dynamite” Duddy will fight for the European Junior title; “Gentleman” Jim Ramsey will fight for the Irish amateur K1 (low kick) title and the ever exciting K1 professional fighter, Vaidus Natkus will fight for the Irish Professional K1 Middleweight title.
PT’s Gym representative, Sean McGill insists the action-packed show at the Letterkenny venue will be the biggest kickboxing ‘extravaganza’ to be held in the north west.
“Credit must be given to the 2011 ISKA ‘World promoter of the year’ Paddy Toland,” said McGill.
“Each and every show he puts on just keeps getting better and this show will be a testament to all the hard work he has put into promoting kickboxing and K1 fighting in Ireland.
“Top of the bill see’s Damien McGuinness fight for the World Title, he added. “Dee is in fantastic shape and is eager to get into that ring.
“It is certain to be a night of high drama, intense action and excitement as the best National and World fighters from Ireland, UK and Europe show their stuff in front of a packed out audience.
“Fight fans will be in for an added treat with several K1 title fights which include low kicks as well as high kicks and knees. It promises to be a night of entertainment, not to be missed,” he concluded.
