Widely regarded as one of Ulster’s most prestigious single day races and set in the picturesque Glens of Antrim and North Antrim coast, the Trophy once again attracted some of the country’s top cyclists but in glorious sunshine, Reilly out-sprinted the strong field to reaffirm his credentials for the up and coming U23 Irish Championships next month.

In a field of 80 riders, the young Foyle cyclist Ryan defeated Ali Gribbon of Carn Wheelers at the end of the 68-mile event, with Gribbon’s teammate Joe McRory taking the last spot on the podium. The trio had been part of a bigger break of eight that went clear and stayed away for much of the afternoon.
