There were heats of both competitions last week at the track and both competitions look very open on form.

In the first semi-final of the guys’ competition, ‘Token Move’ from trap four looks the most likely winner. The September ‘14 dog, owned by Brendan Duffy, showed good early pace to win his heat last week in a time of 28.94.

He runs from trap four on Saturday night and he should lead. If doing so he should win.

‘Black Thought’ from trap two and ‘Aoife’s Melody’ from trap five should also qualify from this semi-final and go through to next week’s final.

The second semi-final looks between ‘Tahina Milo’ from trap two and ‘Pertinacious’ from trap six.

‘Tahina Milo’ should lead but I fancy the well drawn ‘Pertinacious’ to win this semi-final.

‘Frostbit’, from trap three, looks the most likely to get the third place in this ‘semi’ and qualify for next week’s final.

The first semi-final of the dolls looks competitive but I fancy ‘Pennylane Adidas’ owned by Paul McLaughlin from trap four. ‘Pennylane Adidas’ ran really well to finish second in her heat last week after she was checked up at the third bend. However, with a clear run on Saturday night, she should win this semi-final.

The second semi-final will have a short priced favourite in ‘Coolvanny Alice’, owned by Vincent McGuinness. The October ‘14 bitch was a bit slowly away in her heat last week but she showed great pace and track craft to take the lead approaching the third bend. She ran on well to win in a time of 29.29. She has a great trap one draw on Saturday and although the price will be short she cannot be opposed on form.

‘Corrakelly’ from trap three and ‘Meadows Queen’ from trap six look the most likely to also qualify and make it through to next week final. The first race will be at 7.50pm on Saturday night as normal.
