A 43-year-old man who crashed his tractor into another car, has been fined £200 at Strabane Magistrate's Court for careless driving.
John Wallace, Loughan Rd, Donemana, collided with an oncoming car as he pulled his tractor and trailer out of a country lane on the Loughan Road on the 19th February this year.

Wallace’s solicitor said that his client simply did not notice the other motorist until he was out in the middle of the road.

“My client instructs me he did look but didn’t see the other car.”

Imposing a £200 fine and three penalty points on Wallace, District Judge Liam McNally said that he would take into consideration the fact that the defendant had no driving convictions within the last 20 years.
