Police are asking residents to be vigilant following the theft of home heating oil from a house in Sion Mills.
The incident happened in the Primrose Park area of the village sometime between Sept 29th and October 3rd.

A PSNI spokesman said: "Oil is a valuable commodity for criminals however there are steps the public can take to better protect themselves.

"Regularly check your oil levels and if possible order smaller amounts at a time. Ensure your oil tank is not easily accessible from the road and is sited in a well-lit part of the garden.

"For further advice please do not hesitate to contact your Crime Prevention Officer or a member of the Neighbourhood Policing Team on 0845 600 8000."
