The Vice Principal of the Holy Cross College in Strabane has said that the school were "delighted" with their pupils overall performance at GCSE level.
Vice Principal, Mr. Michael Early said that both the students and staff of Holy Cross College were over joyed with their GCSE results which show an overall high rate of achievement. The overall pass rate for A* - C was 60% whilst the overall pass rate at A* - G was 94%.

Mr. Early said: "Nine subjects, Art, Geography, Home Economics, IT, Irish, Additional Maths, Music, Double Award Science and Spanish achieved a 75% pass rate or better at A* - C. Drama, Home Economics, Additional Maths and Music achieved a 100% pass rate at A* - C.

"There were many individual student successes too with 23 students achieving at least five or more A grades. Several students also achieved highly in their Occupational Studies Vocational Courses.

"The success of the students in their GCSEs is a reflection of their ability and the many hours of study which they put in over the two year GCSE course with the support of their parents and a dedicated and committed team of teachers in the college," he said.

Mr. Early said that they were looking forward to many of their students returning in September to the new college facilities to begin their A – level and post – 16 Studies.
