Knockavoe School and Resource Centre will make history this month with their production of 'Annie' which will be staged at the Alley theatre, Strabane on Thursday 15th and Friday, May 16th.
As one of the most respected schools within Northern Ireland, catering for more than 55 pupils with differing special needs, Knockavoe will be the first school of its type to put on a full scale production within a professional theatre.

Catriona Kerrigan, the musical director, producer and teacher at the school said: "All of the pupils and staff have been working so hard, rehearsing every day for weeks. They will undoubtedly prove that Knockavoe can perform a show to remember," she said.

Michaela Parke (13) who will be performing the lead role of Annie said her favourite part of the production was when she got to wear beautiful dresses.

Strabane actor and Knockavoe staff member, Adrian Lynch will be playing Daddy Warbucks, who takes in orphan Annie and saves her from the wicked Miss Hannigan.

"The kids are really enjoying preparing for the show, so I hope all of the district come out to support all of their hard work," he said.

Tickets for this fantastic show are now on sale at the box office and patrons to the Alley are urged to purchase their tickets early due to heavy demand. For further information please contact the Alley Theatre on 028 7138 4444 or visit www.alley-theatre.com
