Strabane District Policing Partnership has been given a fresh look with three new members joining the board and four former members returning to work alongside the elected members nominated by the council.
Councillor Thomas Kerrigan, Chair of Strabane District Policing Partnership, welcomed the announcement by the Policing Board of the seven independent members to serve on the newly-reconstituted DPP.

“I am pleased to welcome the appointment of 3 ne
w members – Jeffrey Barr, Patrick McGonagle and Juliana Moore. We are in a new phase of policing history and there are real opportunities to deliver a policing service which meets community needs.

“Together with the political members nominated by the Council, the range of opinions, experience, and backgrounds of the DPP membership will give us a broad range of views and assist us in our work,” he said.

He continued:”This is an important role and it is important that we, on behalf of the community deliver on our responsibilities and ensure that the police deliver on theirs in making our community safer.”

Colr. Kerrigan also welcomed the reappointment of Sean Crawford, Liam Curran, John Doherty and Arthur McGarrigle to the DPP.

“They have already played an important role in the DPP, working alongside the elected members nominated by Council. Each of them has brought their own individual experience, perspective and links with the community.

“I would like also to thank the retiring DPP members, Noelle Donnell and William Sayers. These outgoing members have contributed significantly to the work of the DPP and on behalf of the community,” he added.
