A new exhibition by celebrated artist Berni Bradley has opened in The Alley theatre with a major new exhibition based on the works of Dylan Thomas and the romantic period.
A native of Strabane, Berni studied art at the University of Ulster and has since progressed on to tutoring and exhibiting with groups, mainly around the Belfast area.

Her new exhibition ‘Different Strokes’ is Berni's first exhibition within her h
ome town gallery.

Speaking earlier this week Berni said: “The Gallery at The Alley is the perfect setting for my paintings, the wide open space allows visitors to look at my work from different angles and take in the exhibition as a collective piece of work.

“I am very excited about exhibiting in my home town and I hope the public enjoy it,” she said.

Berni’s new work has been developed by her interest in poetry and in particular the poetry of Dylan Thomas, the internationally acclaimed Welsh poet who is now best remembered for his poems ‘Under the Milk Wood’ and ‘Do not go gentle into that good night’, a poem written in 1951 about his dying father. Her artwork also displays a strong fascination with the romantic period and in particular the spiritual direction this movement took.

Admittance to the new exhibition is free of charge and will be open to the public Monday-Saturday, 9am to 5pm, and runs until August 1st. For members of the public interested in purchasing an original Bradley picture, the art works and prints will be on sale throughout the exhibition.
