Last Friday marked International talk like a pirate day and a Strabane actor has gone all out to raise vital funds for The Gaiety School of Acting's second year graduation play.
To mark the occasion, local actor Simon Stewart will embark upon a sponsored walk on September 26 from Strabane to Derry, dressed in his pirate regalia whilst talking like a pirate for the entirety of his voyage.

Simon attends The Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin and this year their students must continue raising e50,000 for the end of year graduation play, which will be shown in one of Dublin’s major theatres. The course has an extensive range of techniques for training professional actors, including the opportunity to raise money for their own graduation play at the end of their academic year.

So what better way to fundraiser but to give something to your local area, so if you see Simon along his venture of fortune stop him and lend a helping hand to an old sea dog!
