Strabane man on rape charges

A Strabane man charged with six counts of rape and indecent assault of a female over a 12 month period has been returned for trial to Dungannon Crown Court this month.
The accused, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is due to appear at the court on Thursday May 22 to answer to charges of indecent assault, incitement to commit an act of gross indecency and six counts of rape.

The offences are alleged to have been committed between September 1992 and September 1993.

He made no reply when the charges were read to him at Strabane Magistrate's Court last Thursday.
