TRAFFIC AND TRAVEL: Road closure

Motorists are being advised to avoid the Strabane Road area of Castlederg in Co Tyrone while enquiries into last night's attack on a police officer continue.
The main road between Victoria Bridge and Castlederg has been closed and motorists are advised to seek alternative routes.

On Thursday 15th May at 7pm Marie Curie Cancer Care is holding a sponsored walk 'fund raising' event. The route will start
at Derry Road Presbyterian Church, follow along Barnhill Road, Park Road, Spruce Road, Woodend Road and finish at the church at approximately 8.30pm.

On Sunday 18th May St Eugene's Guides & Scouts are holding a parade in Castlederg town centre, commencing at 2pm from Derg Valley Leisure Centre - Upper Strabane Rd, William Street, John Street, Ferguson Crescent, Castlefin Rd to St Patrick's Church for service at 3pm. There is no return parade.

On Sunday 25th May the ABOD Mitchelburne Club, Castlederg are holding their annual parade & church service, leaving Main Street Car Park at 3pm, following along Albert Street, Main Street, John Street, and William Street to 2nd Castlederg Presbyterian Church for service at 3.30pm. The parade will follow back along the route at 4.30pm following the end of the service.

On Sunday 1st June Ardstraw LOL are holding their annual parade & service. They will parade Deerpark Rd at 7pm before a service in Ardstraw Presbyterian Church at 7.30pm. After the service, they will parade Abbey Villas, Hillview Villas, Collaghy Road & Deerpark Road before dispersing at the Orange Hall at 9.30pm.

On Thursday 5th June Artigarvan PS & Community Nursery are holding their annual fancy dress parade beginning at 6pm. They will parade from Leckpatrick Presbyterian Church to Artigarvan Primary School. There is no return parade.

On Friday 6th June Garvetagh LOL are holding a band parade to dedicate the opening of their new Orange Hall. Parade starts at 9pm and ends at 10pm.

Traffic controls will be in operation at all these events.
