How to grow your own : Derry & Strabane Council releasing YouTube videos and online help for gardening projects
The popularity of gardening has risen dramatically during lockdown, with many reconnecting with nature and taking up the hobby.
It has also led to a renewed appreciation of the natural environment around us.

Hide AdThe Council’s Horticulturalist Johnny Mitchell is providing tips about how to get started on the Council’s own website (see below for link).
This includes information on how to fertilise your flower, fruit or vegetable beds, what to feed your seedlings, organic control of pests, weeding and healthy growth.
Introducing the video on their YouTube channel, a spokesperson for Derry City Council said: “Lockdown is the perfect time to get green fingered and start growing your own fruit and veg.
