Former Miss Derry, Ashleigh Coyle has entered the Big Brother house - just as the Derry Journal told its online audience that she would.
Ashleigh Coyle (18) from the Waterside area of the city won the ‘Miss Derry’ title last year after turning 18 and since that time she has modelled for some local companies.
After winning the ‘Miss Derry’ title, Ashleigh said the accolade had brought her great exposure.
“This year has opened so many doors for me,” she said.
“Within the next year I have so much on already so it’s definitely given me great opportunities and I’m hoping I can do the same for the girl who wins now on Thursday.”
Ashleigh was amongst the second batch of contestants to enter the house. The first group of contestants entered the house on Thursday evening.
Among those to enter on the first night was Helen Wood, who hit the tabloid headlines in 2011 in a story about with England and Manchester United footballer, Wayne Rooney.
The city has had previous entrants on reality shows, but Ashleigh will hope to match the success of fellow Waterside woman, Leah Totton, who triumphed on BBC’s The Apprentice.
