Da Vinci's Hotel will be buzzing over the Jazz Festival weekend

Da Vinci's Hotel opened its doors 16 years ago and has been one of the flagship venues for the City of Derry Jazz and Big Band Festival since the festival launched in 2001. Over the past 15 years of the Jazz Festival Da Vinci's Hotel has hosted some of the most memorable nights of the festival with performances from Ruby Turner, The Jive Aces, The Drifters, The Stars From The Commitments, Puppini Sisters and Kenny Ball to name but a few.

2016 Da Vinci’s Hotel Jazz Festival line up is unmissable.

The opening night sees the hotel host the Mayor’s Charity event with entertainment from festival favourites The Jive Aces and Manouche Swing. Tickets for this event are £7 and available from Da Vincis’ Hotel reception. All proceeds from this event will be donated to Mayor’s chosen charity Alzheimer’s Society.

The best way to kick off your Jazz Festival weekend is at Da Vinci’s Hotel this Friday, 29th April at 5pm with Lee Hedley & Band. Lee and his band will really get you in the Jazz mood for the remainder of the weekend.

As with previous years Da Vinci’s Hotel continues to bring fabulous new acts to the Jazz Festival, this year they have The Dream Band playing in the Grillroom Restaurant at 10pm on Friday, 29th April and admission is free. The Dream Band have performed in some of Europe’s most established venues, from London’s O2 Arena to 5 star hotels across the world. The Dream Band play Motown to neo soul and funk, this band will leave you ‘Happy’, as the Dream’s version of Pharrell Williams tune, will no doubt raise the roof of DV’s.

Mirenda Rosenberg is always one of the festival highlights and on Saturday 30th April along with her band she will perform in the Grillroom Restaurant at Da Vinci’s Hotel. Mirenda sultry performance is always sure to pack the dance floor and entry is complimentary.

When it comes to the Finale night of the Jazz Festival, Da Vinci’s Hotel is the place to be.

Due to popular demand after last year’s SELL OUT gig at Da Vinci’s Hotel The Other Guys - A Frankie Valli & Four Seasons Tribute are back. The Other Guys are playing the Finale event of the Jazz Festival supported by The Jive Aces and Jaydee Brass Band.

Following on from last year The Other Guys will light up the Jazz Festival with their insane vocals, slick choreography and cheeky chappy charisma. Singing all the best known hits; ‘Sherry’, ‘Walk Like a Man’ and ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’, as well as some surprise Frankie Valli classics ‘Beggin’, ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You’ and ‘Grease Is The Word.’

Now in its 15th year, the City of Derry Jazz and BigBand Festival will be bring four days of fabulous live music and entertainment to the North West this Spring Bank Holiday weekend.

The packed programme will see more than 200 gigs and 70 venues and the festival is expected to attract in excess of 400,000 visitors to the city.

Headlining the event is jazz legend and godfather of neo-soul, Roy Ayers who will be supported by a line-up full of talent from across the country and beyond to satisfy the city’s jazz enthusiasts and music lovers as well as the numerous visitors to the city.
