The Feis Dhoire Colmcille Primary Schools’ competition will take place at St Mary’s College, Northland Road on Tuesday April 15.

The competition, which this year has a higher number of entrants than ever before, will be adjudicated by Mr. Ian Mills, musical director of the Altnagelvin Choir and of the Renaissance Singers in Belfast.

Feis organiser Pat McCafferty is encouraging as many members of the public as possible to come along and enjoy Tuesday’s event.

He said: “We have over ten local primary schools taking part across five different competitions this year and we see it as a very fitting way to start this, our 90th annual feis.

“This is a free event and all are welcome. The competition starts at 10am and we’re absolutely delighted to be able to host it in the wonderful surroundings of St Mary’s College where all of the staff have been extremely supportive.”
