Caolan McClafferty, a past pupil at Lumen Christi College, will this week take part in an ad campagin for Rimmel London, one of the biggest make-up brands in the UK.

“We’re shooting the commercial on Friday and I’m really excited about it,” said Caolan, who took time out of a hectic schedule this week to speak to the ‘Journal’ from London.

“Rimmel is a big name and it’s something I’m really pleased to be doing. It’s important to me that I don’t just take every job that comes along but I’m looking forward to this one,” he said.

The campaign comes just three months after Caolan made his debut appearance in British Vogue and GQ magazine. The Derry born model was also the recipient of an industry based Purpleport Award.

However, it’s a project of his own that Caolan says he’s most excited about looking to the future.

His ‘Behind the Screens’ initiative will see him star in and direct a documentary looking at what really happens beyond the catwalk in modelling.

“It started as a TV show but it’s kind of evolved into something where we’re able to work with young people, train them up and give them a portfolio and we’ve secured government funding which is great.

“It’s certainly going to be a busy year but I love it. For me it’s all about setting goals and having those goals to keep me on track. I’ve already achieved a lot of what I wanted so I’m thrilled.”
