Snap up local art at Void ‘Show and Sell’

This Christmas, art lovers and makers along with those looking for that special festive present can come together and enjoy the fourth annual Void Christmas Art Fair ‘Show and Sell’.

The exhibition will be open from Wednesday, December 12 and continues until December 19, with a special late night opening this Thursday, December 13, with refreshments from 7.30pm to 9pm.

Everyone is welcome so bring your family and friends for an evening at Void where you can enjoy mulled wine & mince pies, buy fantastic, affordable artwork and support local artists!

The Christmas Art Fair is a hugely important event in Derry’s creative calendar.

The exhibition attracts all levels of artists, from complete beginners to accomplished professionals - indeed this is one of the major attractions of the show. One of the most striking characteristics of the exhibition is the strong mixture of artists working with new media alongside those accomplished in traditional techniques.

According to Maolíosa Boyle, manager of Void: “The Void Christmas Art Fair has become an annual event that local artists and craft makers now mark on their calendar.

The fair celebrates local talent while also creating a showcase of affordable original artworks that make unique Christmas gifts.”

A non-profit organisation, Void is an artist-led contemporary art space dedicated to showing the work of established and international artists.

Void is a key partner in the 2013 City of Culture programme and there is an incredible line-up planned.
