Steve Earle is playing a one-off gig in Derry next month.

It’s been confirmed that one of the biggest names in US singer-songwriting, Steve Earle, is to play a solo gig at Derry’s Millennium Forum on Thursday, August 28, as part of a European tour.

Earle has written a range of classic songs from ‘Copperhead Road’ to ‘Galway Girl’ and is still producing the goods. His song ‘Invisible’ was nominated for a Grammy this year.

The Forum gig is one of just two dates in Ireland on the Steve Earle tour - the other is in the National Concert Hall in Dublin on Wednesday, August 27.

Concerts on the tour include ‘BBC at the Quay’ in Glasgow and a series of festival dates in England, Italy, Switzerland and Norway.

Texan Earle (59) proved a big hit with the Forum audience on his last visit in 2009. He remains one of the busiest performers in the music business.

You can book tickets for the Steve Earle concert at the Millennium Forum at the box office Tel: 028 71 264455 or online at http://www.millenniumforum.co.uk/content/steve-earle
