An information evening for people interested in volunteering at the City of Culture event ‘Lumiere’ will be held on Monday night at 6pm at the North West Volunteer Centre.
Lumiere will be one of the year’s most thrilling and spectacular events and will take place from November 28 to December 1.
It’s one of the last chances of the year for volunteers to become involved in one of the highlight events of the 2013 celebrations. Event organisers Artichoke are hosting the Lumiere information evening. Lumiere will take place over four magical winter evenings and volunteers are needed to guide the public to the various installations which will be situated all around the city and to provide information to the thousands of visitors who will be arriving. The scale and ambition of the project requires more than 400 volunteers to take part.
Melissa Meenan, City of Culture Volunteer Coordinator said: “The Culture Crew volunteers have played a vital role in making Culture Company events a huge success. We would not have been able to do that without the hard working and dedicated volunteers. They are a real credit and act as wonderful ambassadors.” Anyone wishing to volunteer is urged to attend the briefing on Monday at the North West Volunteer Centre, 22 Bishop Street.
