Several writers from Derry Scriptwriters Group will share their love of the spoken word tomorrow during poetry sessions at Stendhal Festival of Art in Limavady.

Vin McCullough, Bernie Kerr, Freya McClements, Lynne Edgar, Felicity McCall and ‘Journal’ reporter Julieann Campbell will be among the local writers taking part in the festival between 12pm and 2pm tomorrow.

Organisers and audiences will also welcome members of the Jane Ross Writers Group and The Flowerfield Writers Group to the all-new Poetry Corner area at Stendhal this year. All will regale with poems, short stories, monologues and excerpts from their own novels throughout the day.

This year the poetic justice is headlined by the wonderful Mark Niel, a Stand up Poet who brings smart lines and high-energy performance poetry to unsuspecting audiences. A different act or excellent MC, Mark has a regular weekly slot on BBC radio and has performed at major festivals such as Latitude and Green Man.

Besides all that, over 50 musical acts will grace the stages of Stendhal this weekend, led tonight by the legendary Henry McCullough, and tomorrow night by Offaly’s finest, Mundy.
