The organisers of Derry’s newest Irish language cabaret competition, ‘Eamann a’Craic’ have announced the identities of the judging panel.

The first heat of the competition, which will be held in Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin on Saturday evening, will be judged by well-known musician Marcas Ó Murchú and Gerry Downey, first director of Theatre Studies in the North-West College’s Performance Arts programme.

Each programme will consist of a sketch or playlet and three other elements chosen from the following: instrumental music, dancing (set or solo), singing, storytelling, lúibíní or conjuring.

The first heat will involve Aisteoirí na hÓmaí from Omagh and Splanc! from Derry.
