Derry’s Gordon Gallery will host its annual exhibition of mixed medias by local students from tomorrow, Wednesday, September 5, until Saturday, September 8 at their gallery space on Pump Street.
Art students from Cecilia’s College, St. Columb’s College, Foyle College, St. Joseph’s Boys’ School , Lumen Christi College, St. Mary’s College, Oakgrove Integrated College and Thornhill College are all participating in the show.
This is the sixth annual exhibition of the work of A & AS level students from schools in the local area and features paintings, drawings, sculpture, textiles and assemblages.
Gallery owner Richard Gordon says: “Showing the work of the students encourages a participation in the visual arts and allows parents, teachers and the wider public to see the talent that exists in the next generation of our city. Credit should be given to the teachers and parents who encourage their children to use their imagination and to be creative and who value these skills.”
The exhibition opens with the Private View, 6pm - 8:30pm, tomorrow evening, September 5, and continues until Saturday from 11am - 4pm and by appointment. The gallery has disability access and entrance is free. For more information, see: www.gordon-gallery.com or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
