Derry’s Void has been shortlisted for Connect10 to bring artists rAndom International to the 2013 City of Culture following a novel pitch to somehow bring the River Foyle into the gallery - and they need YOUR votes to make it happen!

The Connect10 competition gives artists, venues and audiences a chance to collaborate to create ‘Museums at Night’, an annual after-hours festival of arts, culture and heritage.

Void’s pitch invited the artists to come to Derry and create an evening of interaction that brings the River Foyle into the gallery to create an atmospheric space addressing the relationship between culture and nature.

“A mini reservoir could be installed, where locals see the process of waste water to drinking water with a bar and party fuelled by the Foyle or something that is more atmospheric, like hiring a rain machine, with water from the Foyle, and hosting a rain dance using local acts inside the gallery... We are up for anything... and we believe rAndom international would be the perfect artists to do this,” the pitch reads.

The artists, rAndom International, are behind the sell-out Rain Room which currently has people queuing around the block at the Barbican London.
