Final preparations are being made for the Firefighters’ ball which takes place in the City Hotel this Saturday night at 7.30 p.m.

And the organisers say they are thrilled to have acquired some fantastic prizes for the auctions which will raise money for local charities the Foyle Hospice and Clic Sargent.

Items going under the hammer include the 18th flag of Rory McElroy’s first major tournament which is signed and framed.

Or try and get your hands on Carl Framton’s signed boxing gloves or Ireland rugby shirt signed and framed etc.

Plus much more.

A limited number of tickets are still available for the ball which takes place once every three years.

To buy a ticket call the Fire Station at Northland Road.

A great night’s craic is promised for everyone who attends.
