Comedian Micky Bartlett will be headlining Mason's Comedy Club on Thursday.

Masons Comedy Club is returning to help supply the chuckles for City of Culture.

In the past the club has brought a stream of top professional comics to the stage whilst also opening the door for a range of new acts who are currently blazing a name for themselves on the comedy circuit.

The club has previously played host to the Hole in the Wall Gang’s Tim McGarry, Kevin McAleer, Eleanor Tiernan, Colin Geddis (I am Fighter), Keith Farnan (Michael McIntyre’s Roadshow), John Colleary (RTE’s The Savage Eye), Dairmuid Corr (BBC’s Sketchy) and Kilkenny Cats Laughs Festival favorites Such as Bec Hill, Fred Cooke, Damian Clark and Colm O’Regan.

The club’s 2013 return is kicking off with a night of pure comic quality complete with a special exclusive preview of top comic Micky Bartlett’s brand new show.

The young Lurgan man’s list of comedic achievements is unbelievably impressive.

Micky is the breakout star of BBC NI’s comedy panel show ‘Monumental’ where he has shared the stage - and some would say wiped the floor - with Jimeoin, Andrew Maxwell and Michael Smiley.

He’s played the Odyssey arena in Belfast opening for Patrick Kielty as well as at the Grand Opera House where he was filmed exclusively for Dave’s One Night Stand series.

He’s been featured on The Blame Game radio series, performed warm up for Rhod Gilbert and he’s a regular performer at the legendary Empire Comedy Club in Belfast.

Micky is also known for his role in the hugely popular, definitely irreverent, internet series, ‘I am Fighter.’

Support on the night will come from Derry’s own comedian of culture Bobby Best as well as from Terry McHugh, fresh from a storming gig at the Stroke City Comedy Club and a sellout performance at the Belfast Barge.

The night kicks off at 9pm at Masons Bar on Magazine Street.

So for all fans of comedy and for even bigger fans of having a good Thursday night, this is one event not to be missed. Admission is but a mere £4 and entry comes complete with a free shot, drink promotions and musical support from Thumpin’ Jelly Fish.

Get your laughing gear around that!
