Tickets have now gone on sale for a series of top-class concerts at the North Atlantic Fiddle Convention in Derry and Donegal this summer, with more leading names confirmed from Canada, Scotland and elsewhere.
It’s already been announced that the biggest name in Irish folk music, the Chieftains, will headline the final concert in the Plaza in Buncrana on Sunday July 1st. Now the full line-up for the concert has been unveiled - and it also includes the internationally renowned Scottish fiddler Alastair Fraser and his cellist player partner Natalie Haas from the USA; Pierre Schryer and friends from Canada; Troy MacGillivray and Andrea Beaton from Cape Breton Island; and Annbjorg Lien from Norway.
Also there on the night will be local musicians and dancers from the Inishowen Music Project and Coyle School of Irish Dancing.
The Convention is held every two years. This is the first time it’s been in Ireland. Hundreds of musicians, dancers and academics will be gathering for a busy programme of gigs, workshops, conferences, impromptu sessions and more in Derry and Donegal.

In all, more than 200 events will showcase the music and dance traditions of Ireland, Scotland, Shetland, Orkney, England, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Galicia, Canada and the United States.
