It takes a brave man to turn his back on a career in architecture in favour of the rock & roll lifestyle, but Derry man Vincent Neff has done just that and will grace the stage of ‘Later... With Jools Holland’ on BBC2 this Friday night.

As frontman for London-based band Django Django, Vincent Neff, originally from Templegrove in the city, is currently causing a sensation in the music industry, performing all over Europe and beyond.

Despite seven-years training to become a fully-qualified architect, Vincent put his career on hold with his family’s blessing to pursue a life on the road with his fellow Django band-mates. Indeed, the band are now so hotly-tipped, legendary fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld flew them to Paris last month to play at the Chanel after-show party at Paris Fashion Week and even raved about them and their debut album on live German TV!

Before studying Architecture at Edinburgh’s Heriot Watt University, following his graduation, Vincent moved to London to specialise in urban design working on major regeneration projects throughout England, combining work and music until the demand for Django Django intensified and the band went global. Django Django will perform on ‘Later... With Jools Holland’ on BBC2 this Friday evening from 11.50pm, alongside fellow guests Plan B, Ren Harvieu, Melody Gardot and Welsh heart-throb, Tom Jones.

The band will also play their first ever NI gig on June 21 at An Culturlann Centre, Great James’ Street.
