Following on from the stratospheric success of Derry singers Damian McGinty and Keith Harkin, the producers behind hit music stage show Celtic Thunder want to see more raw talent from the city when they hold open auditions in Dublin next week.

Celtic Thunder tours have been so impressed by the talent of their Derry performers that they’re now especially keen to hear from other male music talent in the city in their search for the internationally acclaimed show’s new principal singer.

Speaking to the Journal, Music Manager Jean Clancy highlighted the big opportunities that could be available to the lucky auditionee who is chosen.

“We have been very lucky in the past with the amazing talent we have cast particularly Damian McGinty and Keith Harkin. Damian has obviously gone on to great things with GLEE! and Keith is finishing up his debut CD with producer David Foster who has produced records for Andrea Bocelli, Celine Dion, Josh Groban, Whitney Houston, Madonna, Brian Adams, Christine Aguilera, The Bee Gees and many more.

Auditions will be held in the Gallery at The Helix, DCU Collins Avenue, Glasnevin on Wednesday, May 9 from 10am until 6pm and producers are searching for a male vocalist with a pop/contemporary style aged between 20 and 30.
